In the role of Senior Benefits Specialist, we'll count on you to:

• Administer leave of absences for a U.S. region (disability, FMLA, etc)
• Ensure HDR leave program is compliant with state and federal leave laws
• Process payments for short-term disability
• Track FMLA usage
• Answer routine to complex benefit-related questions and troubleshoot questions on employee coverage
• Mentor and educate benefit team members and office HR representatives
• Develop and conduct presentations as needed
• Act as a liaison between insurance carriers and employees or office HR representatives as needed
• Process various insurance carrier monthly invoices
• Conduct monthly and quarterly audits with insurance carriers
• Assist in administering Canada benefit programs
• Involved with administering the open enrollment process
• Administer paid time away programs globally
• Develop employee education and communication pieces
• Process life insurance claims and assist beneficiaries through the process

Required qualifications:

• Associate's degree in human resources, business or closely related field
• A minimum of 5 years of related benefits experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and utilize company information management systems
• Project and team management/leadership skills and experience
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates
• Capability of effective planning and priority setting
• Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs
• Ability to understand, evaluate and judge proposals relating to benefit programs and knowledge of benefits contract language
• Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements
• Excellent communication, client service and organization skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
