SUMMARY

Leads the design, development, and optimization of the enterprise data warehouse and ELT processes. Responsible for defining and executing data mapping, building robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines, and designing scalable data models. Analyzes source data for quality, implements systemic improvements, and performs code reviews to ensure best practices. Defines advanced reporting needs, optimizes queries, writes lightweight applications, and collaborates with the team on data governance and asset management.

Serves as a strategic resource by providing recommendations for data strategies, leading knowledge sharing within the Data Strategy COE, and monitoring industry trends and cost implications to drive high‑performing, cost‑effective data solutions across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and execute requirements for data mapping and ELT processes.
  • Provide and design solution elements for data strategies and out‑of‑scope processes.
  • Build data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes for the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Analyze source system data for quality and design process improvement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain the data model(s) for the data warehouse.
  • Define and scope advanced reporting needs.
  • Build views and optimize queries for visualization tools.
  • Write code for lightweight applications.
  • Investigate and remediate systemic data issues to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assists in developing and executing data governance roadmap efforts within data engineering processes.
  • Provide comprehensive end‑user support and training on developed data products, fostering widespread adoption and data literacy.
  • Assist the team in managing data assets.
  • Perform design and code reviews to ensure best practices and standards are followed.
  • Monitor industry trends, software versions, and backend tools to enhance team capabilities.
  • Track cost implications of front‑end tooling and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
  • Consider performance improvement implications across the tech stack and enterprise data strategy.
  • Support discussions and collaboration with the Data Strategy Center of Excellence for knowledge sharing.
  • Lead training on processes and tooling for the Data Strategy Center of Excellence.
  • Guide the team in defining project timelines, expectations, and outputs.
  • Monitor the project backlog and prioritize business needs communicated by stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of requirements gathering, data analysis, report development, or related experience.
  • One (1) or more years of insurance industry experience.
SKILLS
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, and relational databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of system integrations and database structures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sharp analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work in a team and foster teamwork.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
