Data Engineer
Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for designing complex solutions, automation and controls as well as developing operational processes to support and maintain our data solutions across multiple products. It involves working with the business to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of data. The Data Architect leads the research, design, development, and integration of emerging technology architectures to align with business strategy, goals, and objectives.
They create architectural principles to support business goals, consult with senior managers and other technology professionals, understand and model key business processes, and formulate conceptual architectures. They communicate the architectural vision, goals, and design objectives to multiple audiences, lead the development of technology strategies and roadmaps for emerging technologies, assist senior managers in developing technology vision and strategy, guide and consult with technology teams and business management, and identify risks associated with current or new technology use.
and Experience
- Five or more years related work experience
- Independent judgment to handle moderately complex issues
- Comprehensive general knowledge of subject matter to make decisions on various cases
- Ability to work independently under general direction
- Strong communication skills for both inside and outside contacts, requiring judgment, explanation, discussion, problem solving and considerable tact
- Experience with confidential data
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication with all levels of the organization
- Mathematical and statistical analysis

- Experience with Data Warehouses, Data Marts
- Knowledge of data modeling principles Inmon and Kimball
- Minimum of three years with Azure Data Factory, Python and SQL Programming
- Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Knowledge of insurance coverages, rating schemes and insurance products
- Software, database or project management certification or designation
- Experience with cloud-based technologies (Azure, Dev Ops, Data Studio)
- Experience with artificial intelligence/machine learning
- Data orchestration (Data Factory, AWS Data Pipeline)
- Familiarity with data lake architecture and concepts (scalable storage, compute, Apache Spark, delta tables)
- Database manipulation software and/or application development (ex. .NET, SQL, Python, No
SQL) - Data modeling tools like Erwin, Embarcadero
- Cloud data solutions (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake)
- Dev Ops tools like Git, Azure Data Factory, ADO, and SQL
- Experience architecting enterprise data systems
Contract position based in Omaha, NE. Fully onsite.
Compensation$10.00 - $11.00 per hour.
