Leidos is on the lookout for a Lead Data Systems Engineer to design and oversee innovative data solutions as part of our cutting‑edge software offerings for government clients. In this key role, you’ll collaborate closely with an exceptional engineering team to support software deployed in classified networks, engaging with both Leidos and government product teams. Your ability to appreciate diverse viewpoints, welcome constructive feedback, and communicate passionately about enhancing team performance will be essential in fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.

• Manage database administration tasks, including design layout, installation, configurations, upgrades, consolidation, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance.
• Create and maintain stored procedures, views, tables, and PL/SQL scripts, along with associated documentation.
• Facilitate data conversion and server migrations.
• Oversee database implementation, security, access privileges, and routine maintenance duties.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical environment issues, providing effective solutions to mitigate problems.
• Mentor and cross‑train team members, working both independently and as part of a team.

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant database experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience. Additional relevant experience may substitute for academic qualifications.
• Must be a US Citizen with the capability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance.
• Proven experience in database administration, with a strong ability to develop and maintain scripts, procedures, and documentation.
• Experience in conducting database backups and recovery processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Active Secret or higher security clearance preferred.
• Experience with data solution migration/implementation in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with containerized databases.
• Experience in database modeling/architecture.
• Knowledge of web application technologies, such as Weblogic and Apache.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with Agile Development methodologies.
• Proficiency with multiple operating systems (Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, etc.).
• Experience with at least one Relational Database Management System, preferably Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Skilled in MS Office Products including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $
