Additionally, this role may be performed remotely only for candidates residing in one of the states where Children’s is established:
Nebraska (preferred), Iowa, Idaho, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Dakota, or Tennessee. No exceptions can be made. Willow Inpatient/ Willow Inventory Certifications preferred.
Design, test, implement, and maintain hospital and/or outpatient clinical IT applications. Research and correct system and user problems. Work with various primary care clinics, specialty departments, ancillary or inpatient units to support practice and implement changes as needed to the existing systems.
Essential Functions- Analyze, design, configure, test, and maintain Children’s Hospital & Medical Center’s clinical applications to accomplish department goals and meet the needs of end‑users.
- Research, analyze, and correct system and user problems in a timely manner. Actively and accurately maintain documentation of issues, resolutions, and build documentation as outlined by department policies.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through effective and consistent communication.
- Participate on project teams working with individual departments to define requirements for changing new and existing systems. Work with the team to define process flows and make recommendations for the most efficient utilization of applications.
- Analyze and translate workflow requirements into efficient and effective application solutions.
- Perform integrated testing of current and new vendor functionality to ensure reliability and integrity of the EMR.
- Assist with end‑user training and development as needed.
- Participate in on‑call and monthly maintenance activities.
- Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.
- Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section.
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, medical profession, or related field required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience in Information Technology or healthcare field preferred.
- Previous Epic clinical application experience preferred.
- Previous systems super user and/or trainer experience preferred.
- Incumbents with a professional license must possess and maintain a current/valid license in the state of Nebraska or a compact state license (e.g., RN, RT, MA, etc.) required.
- Must obtain EPIC certification within 9 months of hire and maintain the certification(s) for the duration of employment in IT required.
- Work after hours and on weekends as needed is an expectation of the job required.
