Data Business Analyst
Insight Global is seeking a Data Business Analyst for a top enterprise data and analytics organization. This candidate will serve as the key connection between business stakeholders and the enterprise data platform team, ensuring business needs are converted into scalable, trusted data products and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will gather and document requirements, facilitate stakeholder discussions, define business rules and KPIs, and collaborate with data architects and engineering teams on enterprise data models.
This individual will play a critical role in delivering high-quality analytics solutions by validating data, supporting UAT efforts, driving governance standards, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical delivery. Strong communication skills, data modeling expertise, SQL proficiency, and the ability to bridge technical and business teams are essential for success in this highly visible role.
Required
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in business data analysis, data warehousing, analytics, or related roles
- Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business data requirements
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
- Experience with data modeling methodologies including dimensional modeling and star schemas
- Understanding of enterprise reporting and analytics environments
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to facilitate discussions between business and technical stakeholders
- Experience translating business requirements into user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria
- Data validation, reconciliation, and UAT experience
- Nice to Have
Skills & Experience: - Experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, Databricks, or similar cloud analytics platforms
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or other BI tools
- Knowledge of dbt and modern data transformation practices
- Familiarity with data governance, master data management, and metadata management
- Experience supporting Finance, HR, Projects, Operations, or Enterprise Reporting domains
- Experience developing KPI catalogs and semantic data models
- Data stewardship and governance experience
