As a NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise and telecommunications network environments within a mission-critical operational setting. You will work closely with network engineering teams, telecom providers, vendors, and operational stakeholders to identify, diagnose, and resolve network incidents while ensuring SLA compliance and service continuity. The role requires strong expertise in routing, switching, WAN technologies, Linux administration, and network monitoring platforms.
Candidates with experience supporting railway, transportation, or operational technology (OT) environments will have a distinct advantage.
- Monitor and support enterprise, telecom, and OT network infrastructure.
- Perform network fault detection, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
- Support routers, switches, firewalls, WAN connectivity, and enterprise networking platforms.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Support microwave radio communication and backhaul transmission systems.
- Coordinate with telecom carriers, vendors, ISPs, and third-party providers to resolve service issues.
- Manage incidents, escalations, and restoration activities within SLA requirements.
- Support Linux-based systems, applications, and operational tools.
- Perform network maintenance, upgrades, and configuration changes.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and develop incident reports.
- Maintain network documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-base articles.
- Participate in shift-based operations and on-call support activities.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in NOC, Telecom Operations, ISP Support, Network Operations, or Enterprise Network Support.
- Strong knowledge of:
- TCP/IP Networking
- Routing and Switching
- VLAN Technologies
- DNS and DHCP Services
- VPN Technologies
- Network Monitoring Platforms
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN infrastructure.
- Experience supporting telecom carrier, ISP, or enterprise network environments.
- Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
- Understanding of Incident Management, Problem Management, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively within shift-based operational environments.
- Experience in railway, transportation, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of Positive Train Control (PTC) systems.
- Knowledge of Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) systems.
- Experience supporting Rail Communication Networks.
- Exposure to SCADA and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Experience with network monitoring solutions such as:
- Solar Winds
- PRTG
- Nagios
- Zabbix
- Cisco CCNA Certification.
- Cisco CCNP Certification.
- CompTIA Network+ Certification.
