Senior Commercial General Liability & Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster (Full‑Time, Exempt)

- Adjudicate complex indemnity and federal black lung workers’ compensation claims and commercial general liability claims with significant impact on departmental results.
- Provide superior customer service and build lasting client and broker relationships.
- Investigate claims promptly, including interviewing parties, analyzing policies and claims forms, and determining coverage.
- Prepare coverage letters, manage litigation, and create reserves according to Argo’s reserving policy.
- Identify loss drivers and trends via data analysis to reduce claim frequency and severity.
- Coordinate and assign expertise resources for case resolution.
- Develop and deliver reports to senior management, loss‑control and underwriting teams.
- Negotiate settlements within authority limits, following organizational referral procedures.
- Prioritize workload, process mail, and maintain clear correspondence with insureds, claimants, and other stakeholders.
- Apply creative solutions for optimal financial outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial general liability and workers’ compensation claims.
- Minimum of five years’ experience adjudicating both types of claims in AL, CO, FL, GA, NC, NJ, NY, or SC.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required, or two insurance designations plus four additional years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
- Active license or ability to obtain a license in AL, FL, GA, NC, NY, KY, and SC within 120 days of employment.
- Strong business acumen, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment on significant matters.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other business software.
- Fluency in English (reading and writing).

- Base salary:
Richmond $101,184–$120,462;
Albany & Chicago $111,384–$132,498;
Los Angeles & New York City $121,482–$144,636. - Eligibility for annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
