Job Overview

Position:
Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster (TEMP) – Argo Group.

Employment Type:

Contingent Worker, Non‑Exempt.

Location:

In‑Office or Remote – any continental U.S. location (eligible for a temporary assignment through 26

June
2026; if filled at Omaha, Richmond (VA) or Rockwood (PA) it may become temp‑to‑hire).

Assignment:
Temporary assignment of higher technical complexity workers compensation claims within the state of Kentucky.

Government‑mandated benefits are provided for the temporary period.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Adjudicate workers compensation claims of higher technical complexity, working under technical direction and within significant limits and authority.
  • Resolve generalized issues that are not complex but require a broader understanding of related matters.
  • Report claim trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
  • Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing all involved parties.
  • Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions and other records to determine coverage.
  • Manage claims in litigation and coordinate expert resources to assist in resolution.
  • Maintain a diary and complete tasks timely to ensure cases move toward the best financial outcome.
  • Set claim reserves properly.
  • Prepare reports for file documentation.
  • Apply creative solutions to achieve the best financial outcome.
  • Negotiate settlements.
  • Maintain telephone calls and written correspondence to/from insureds, claimants, etc.
  • Demonstrate strong claim management passion and customer focus.
Qualifications / Experience Required
  • Practical knowledge of adjudicating workers compensation claims.
  • Kentucky claims license (required at assignment start).
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required). Two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience adjudicating indemnity workers compensation claims in Kentucky.
  • Good business acumen, understanding how insurance operates and how this role impacts profitability.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Natural curiosity and desire to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent evaluation and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong claim negotiation skills (mandatory).
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Effective time‑management skills and ability to prioritize workload under multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to articulate the financial value of your work to senior levels, including CEOs.
  • Independent work style with sound judgment.
  • Inner strength and courage to do the right thing.
  • Intellectual curiosity, considering all options and avoiding conventional thinking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other business software.
  • Polished, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
Benefits and Compensation

Competitive base pay ranges (hourly) vary by location and cost of labor; all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance.

  • Colorado (outside Denver metro), Maryland, Nevada, Rhode Island: $37.66 – $44.33per hour.
  • California (outside Los Angeles andSanFrancisco metro area), Connecticut, Chicago metro area, Denver metro area, Houston metro area, New York State (including Westchester County), Washington State: $41.44 – $48.79per hour.
  • Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco metro areas: $45.12 – $53.16per hour.
