Overview of the Insurance Premium Auditor

The Premium Auditor Associate will be responsible for conducting Worker’s Compensation insurance audits.

The Premium Auditor Associate may also be required to conduct audits for other lines of insurance, such as General Liability and Professional Liability (a.k.a. Errors and Omissions). The purpose of an audit is to determine the customer’s actual insurance exposure and to process adjustments to ensure appropriate premiums are billed to the customer.

*** This is a regular full-time position located in Omaha, NE. ***

Major Responsibilities of the Insurance Premium Auditor

  • Analyze payroll, tax, and accounting records for various insurance lines.
  • Gather business operation details and employee job duties through phone and email.
  • Ensure correct insurance classification codes are assigned and suggest changes as needed.
  • Adjust premiums based on state manual rules.
  • Complete audit worksheets in Excel and input findings into our database.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the audit process.
  • Address and resolve customer disputes regarding audit results.

Qualifications of the Insurance Premium Auditor

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field
  • 3.0 GPA or higher required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quick to learn new software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong reading comprehension to interpret manual rules.

Schedule of the Insurance Premium Auditor

  • M – F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Hybrid schedule, 3 days WFH, 2 in office.
