We are looking for a responsible part time custodian to help maintain and protect our facilities. This position is available for 10-15 hours a week. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.

• Cleaning and Sanitization:
  Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other areas as assigned. Ensure all areas are clean, hygienic, and free from debris or hazards.
• Waste Management:
  Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from classrooms, offices, and common areas. Empty and clean waste containers regularly and ensure proper segregation and disposal of different types of waste.
• Floor Care:
  Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors by mopping, buffing, waxing, and vacuuming. Identify and report any floor maintenance or repair needs.
• Restroom Maintenance:
  Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly, ensuring a fresh and sanitary environment. Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
• Classroom Setup:
  Assist in setting up classrooms for various activities, events, or meetings. Arrange furniture and equipment as per the instructions provided.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous custodial experience is preferred but not mandatory.
