Maintenance Supervisor – Progressive Protein
Pursue a leadership role performing plant maintenance and ensuring equipment reliability on the night shift. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires supervising a team of maintenance technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities on plant equipment, motors, pumps, drives, belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves.
- Assign maintenance tasks and monitor completion, ensuring accurate record keeping of maintenance history logs and required paperwork.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, determining causes of operating errors and anticipating potential failures before downtime occurs.
- Maintain and follow company GMP, safety policies, and standard operating procedures, ensuring all maintenance work is performed in compliance.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other plant personnel to plan and schedule maintenance activities and projects.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and overall plant performance.
- Stay current on plant maintenance equipment, tools, and technologies and provide mentorship to maintenance technicians.
- May be required to work long hours and weekends as needed, operating plant facilities in hot and cold environments.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
- Strong electrical, welding, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, industrial, PLC experience.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Well‑organized with strong attention to detail and a positive work ethic.
- Adaptable, dependable, and able to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.
- Prior maintenance or manufacturing experience preferred; prior rendering experience preferred.
- Experience with preventative maintenance, equipment installation, parts replacement, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, reach with hands and arms, and work in hot and cold environments.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments; frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching.
