Maintains, calibrates, inspects, and repairs building equipment, services, and systems. Tasks performed comply with established guidelines stipulated by the NFPA, Joint Commission, and the hospital. General service expertise in all mechanical equipment, building services, and systems.

• Maintain all building equipment, services and systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, environmental, security systems. These systems support the operation of Children’s Hospital, parking facilities, and related locations.
• Complete building‑related equipment repairs and preventative maintenance as assigned.
• Recommend equipment repairs or replacement as necessary.
• Coordinate work to be performed by outside companies/vendors.
• Document repair and maintenance service activities, including detailed equipment repairs by equipment identification.
• Ensure maintenance of parts inventory and materials usage; keep working stock on hand and reorder parts as required.
• Hold reserve authority to initiate actions as required restoring to normal, or providing for emergency services from within/outside the hospital in the absence of higher authority.
• Attend work regularly – regular attendance is an essential function.
• Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Required).
• Associate’s Degree from an accredited technical/trade school or engineering college (Preferred).

• Minimum two years’ experience in the mechanical/electrical field (Preferred).

• In-depth knowledge of facility plant operations, including operation of air handlers and their relationship to maintaining a controlled building climate.
• Essential math and computer skills.
• Ability to properly use hand and power tools, choosing the right tool for the job.

• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record and ability to provide own transportation (Required).
