Job Description

As a Managing Director on our Global Employer Services Team, you will apply your industry knowledge and experience to work with clients providing executive compensation advisory services to high level executives, board, and senior management. You will be a critical part of the office’s/region’s tax services leadership team, teaching, instructing and reviewing the work of less experienced staff, and serving as the main client contact for compensation consulting and complex questions.

You will be responsible for marketing, networking, and business development within your area of expertise, as well as maintaining key client relationships.

• Tax, Compensation, and Benefit Consulting/Specialization
  • Expert knowledge of the process of combining executive compensation knowledge of business/industry to recommend solutions to both private and public companies.
  • Expert knowledge of application of standards in compensation & benefits specialty and recognized as industry expert.
  • Working knowledge of the tax issues related to executive compensation including Sections 280G, 162(m) and 409A.
• Strategy Development
  • Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the firm or firm personnel.
  • Designs and implements compensation and benefit structures.
  • Consistently makes suggestions as to how previous work products or approaches can be improved.
  • Experiments and develops promising new strategies and ideas.
  • Present complex strategies to clients and prospective clients.
  • Leads marketing campaigns.
  • Present to boards and management on recommendations for compensation and benefit structures.
  • Advise clients on executive pay principles grounded in best practice.
  • Tailor compensation programs for clients to effectively meet client needs.
  • Provide clients with appropriate pay data aligned with key business initiatives and benchmarked across the industry.
• Other duties as required.

• Supervise the day‑to‑day workload of tax GES associates and managers on assigned engagements and review work product.

• Bachelor’s degree, required.
• MST/MBT, preferred.

• Eight or more years of prior work experience, preferred.

• Microsoft Office products including Windows Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent people development and delegation skills, including training and instruction.
• Executive presence – primary client contact, preparation and presentation of presentations to clients and prospects.
• Excellent client development/relationship‑building skills.
• Excellent decision‑making skills.
• Ability to supervise and review work of associates, senior associates, and managers.
• Ability to develop and manage team.
• Leadership and strong community involvement preferred.

Salary ranges:

• National: $157,500 – $420,000.
• Maryland: $157,500 – $420,000.
• NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $157,500 – $420,000.
• Washington DC: $157,500 – $420,000.
