The USACE NWO mission is to deliver vital engineering solutions, in collaboration with partners, to secure the nation, energize the economy, and reduce disaster risks by focusing on a diverse array of missions, including flood risk management, navigation, hydropower, environmental restoration, and regulatory oversight.
Provide services and support as a Environmental Remediation Services (ERS) (Dive Supervisor) in the Environmental Management Industry Sector focusing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as Department of Defense (DoD - USACE) | U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division, Omaha District (USACE NWO) Area of Responsibility (AOR) Generally Located In CONUS

Responsibilities and Duties

Supervision of Dive Operations:
Oversee and direct all diving activities, ensuring that divers are safely conducting underwater UXO/EOD operations in compliance with DoD standards and project-specific protocols.
Risk Assessment and Safety Management:
Conduct thorough risk assessments before diving operations, implement safety procedures, and ensure that all dive team members adhere to safety protocols.
Coordination and Planning:
Plan and coordinate diving operations, including the deployment of personnel, equipment, and resources necessary for UXO/EOD tasks underwater.
Training and Briefing:
Provide pre-dive briefings to divers, ensuring they are aware of the mission objectives, potential hazards, and safety measures. Ensure that all divers are properly trained and qualified for the tasks at hand.
Equipment Management:
Ensure that all diving and UXO/EOD equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and ready for use. Oversee the proper handling and use of explosives and ordnance disposal tools.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of all dive operations, including dive logs, safety checklists, and reports on UXO/EOD activities performed underwater.

Experience:
Extensive experience in both diving and UXO/EOD operations, particularly in underwater environments, is essential. This includes hands-on experience in the detection and disposal of underwater ordnance.
Certification:
Must be certified as a Dive Supervisor through a DoD Accredited Program, ensuring they meet the high standards required for military and defense-related diving operations.
Safety Focused:
Strong emphasis on safety management, with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and enforce safety protocols in high-risk underwater environments.
Leadership:
Effective leadership skills to manage and direct dive teams, ensuring clear communication, coordination, and execution of UXO/EOD tasks.
Technical Proficiency:
In-depth knowledge of diving equipment, UXO/EOD tools, and ordnance disposal techniques applicable to underwater scenarios.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to quickly assess and respond to unexpected challenges during underwater operations, ensuring the safety of the dive team and the successful completion of the mission.
Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications 7+ years in diving supervision; certifications such as Dive Supervisor Certification required. | Associate's degree or equivalent in related field.
Skills Required:
Diving skills, safety management, equipment maintenance, problem-solving. | Professional Licensure:
Dive Supervisor Certification, First Aid/CPR certification.
