Job Description
Ensures the temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately, and made available to worthy Church members.
- Providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple.
- Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency.
Provides a clean and well‑cared‑for temple clothing and other linen supplies for temple patrons, workers, and employees and ensures an adequate inventory of clothing and linens is maintained.
Schedule:
Tue/Wed/Thu - 1pm to 9pm;
Fri - 12pm to 6pm;
Sat - 9am to 5pm.
- Maintains staff of workers, consisting of employees (approximately 3‑15) and Church Service workers (approximately 5‑50) by interviewing prospects and making recommendations to Temple Recorder. (5%)
- Oversees training of new workers through personal orientations, pairing new workers with experienced workers for detailed instruction, and monitoring the interaction of the pairs. (10%)
- Insures prompt, cheerful service to all patrons desiring temple clothing through proper scheduling and supervision of workers. (15%)
- Supervises staff, maintaining discipline and high morale, monitors performance, prepares time sheets and logs of volunteer support hours. (20%)
- Maintains adequate inventory of rental clothing and cleaning materials, monitoring stocks and initiating requisitions with adequate lead time. (5%)
- Sees that rental clothing is maintained in clean, serviceable condition, maintaining quality awareness among workers. (10%)
- Assures that linen/laundry operation breaks even financially by coordinating staffing requirements, rental charges, purchases, and reporting to the Temple Recorder. Supervises handling and accounting of cash daily. (15%)
- Sees that patron service areas have a pleasing, orderly appearance by monitoring and initiating corrective action. (5%)
- Two (2) years of relevant experience (supervisory, commercial laundry, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Experience in inventory control
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Basic financial background
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds, bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push, and perform physically demanding work in a fast‑paced environment; must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
