Our client is seeking a Director of Mediation and Training to join their growing team. The selected individual will be responsible for overseeing the development, promotion, scheduling, delivery, and quality of mediation, facilitation, and training services provided by the organization. The Director collaborates with the Executive Director to establish program goals, monitor outcomes, and ensure the organization’s services meet high professional and ethical standards.

Job Duties Program Leadership and Administration
  • Provide strategic oversight and direction for the organization’s mediation and training programs.
  • Establish annual revenue and service delivery targets for mediation and training programs.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage contract mediators, facilitators, and trainers.
  • Coordinate scheduling of mediators and trainers affiliated with the organization.
  • Maintain professional standards for mediation, facilitation, and training services.
  • Develop and deliver customized conflict resolution and communication training programs.
  • Prepare reports and program updates for the Executive Director and organizational leadership.
Mediation and Facilitation Services
  • Provide mediation and facilitation services for civil, family, organizational, and community disputes.
  • Support mediation services including Small Claims, Special Education (SPED), financial, and organizational mediation processes.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to affiliated mediators to strengthen facilitation and mediation skills.
Juvenile Court Facilitation and Mediation
  • Support court-referred mediation and facilitation processes including:
    • Pre-hearing conferences
    • Family group conferences
    • Child welfare mediation (Bridge Orders)
    • Pre-permanency facilitation
    • Termination facilitation
  • Train new facilitators and provide continuing education opportunities.
Parenting Plan Mediation Program Support
  • Assist with grant reporting related to parenting plan mediation programs.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of affiliate mediators.
  • Monitor parenting plan case progress and conduct case status reviews.
  • Develop processes and procedures to maintain program quality and compliance.
Partnerships and Academic Collaboration
  • Coordinate with Creighton University School of Law to support mediation coaching and teaching opportunities.
  • Support training partnerships and professional development opportunities for mediators.
Outreach and Community Engagement
  • Build and maintain referral networks within the legal, nonprofit, and business communities.
  • Promote the organization’s services through presentations, workshops, and community outreach.
  • Increase community awareness of mediation and conflict resolution services.
Organizational Leadership
  • Represent the organization in community organizations and partnerships as assigned.
  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives.
  • Assist in the continued development of mediation and training services.
Professional Development
  • Maintain current knowledge of mediation practices, research, and program innovations.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong mediation, facilitation, and conflict resolution expertise.
  • Ability to design and deliver professional training programs.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong initiative and professional judgment.
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships and professional networks.
  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers and contract professionals.
  • High level of professionalism, reliability, and organizational awareness.
Education and Experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution, Negotiation, or related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience as a neutral mediator and facilitator.
  • Experience providing mediation or conflict resolution training.
  • Training in Basic and Family Mediation, facilitation, or restorative practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of juvenile and family court processes preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
