Project Manager

A leading global architecture and engineering firm with over 100 years of legacy is seeking a Project Manager for its West Coast, Mid-West & East Coast offices. This established firm specializes in transformative design across multiple sectors, with offices strategically located throughout the United States. Their portfolio encompasses federal, healthcare, aviation, education, and commercial projects, delivered through integrated architecture, engineering, and interior design services.

The Project Manager will lead the successful execution of engineering and design projects. This role is responsible for managing projects from initial planning through completion, ensuring exceptional client service, technical quality, financial performance, and seamless coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive leader who enjoys building client relationships, managing complex projects, and guiding teams to successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects through all phases of planning, design, and delivery while maintaining scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients to define project goals, establish scope, and develop project execution strategies.
  • Develop project schedules, staffing plans, budgets, and work plans to support successful project delivery.
  • Identify project risks early and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare fee proposals and participate in contract negotiations with clients, consultants, and subconsultants.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing coordination meetings while maintaining clear communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee QA/QC efforts to maintain technical excellence across all project documentation.
  • Manage subconsultant performance, coordination, and contract compliance.
  • Identify scope changes and prepare additional service proposals when appropriate.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams through responsive communication and trusted partnership.
  • Coordinate project billing, monitor project financial performance, and support timely collections.
  • Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to project team members while promoting collaboration and professional growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience managing projects within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and delivering projects through multiple phases of design and construction.

Skills:
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methods, construction practices, contract administration, and consultant coordination.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing competing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Experience developing fee proposals, managing project budgets, and supporting contract negotiations.
  • Client-focused mindset with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional licensure such as PE, Registered Architect (RA), PMP, or similar credentials is preferred.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
