The Manager, Craftsman is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire woodworking operation. This position combines a wealth of craftsmanship knowledge with strategic management skills to ensure the production of exceptional cabinets and furniture while leading a highly skilled team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction for the woodworking department, aligning goals with overall company objectives.
- Develop and implement long‑term plans to enhance craftsmanship, efficiency, and innovation.
- Lead and manage a team of craftsmen, overseeing daily operations and workflow.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, skill development, and collaboration within the team.
- Streamline and optimize woodworking processes to maximize efficiency and output.
- Implement industry best practices to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained.
- Establish and enforce stringent quality control measures to meet or exceed industry standards and project specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and certifications.
- Oversee the successful execution of woodworking projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure project timelines and customer expectations are met.
- Explore and implement advanced technologies within the woodworking processes to enhance productivity and precision.
- Stay informed about industry trends and innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
- Act as a point of contact for high‑profile customers, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
- Resolve escalated customer issues and provide expert guidance on project requirements.
- Manage the woodworking department budget, ensuring cost‑effective operations while maintaining high‑quality standards.
- Provide regular financial reports and analysis to senior management.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills, with a track record of successfully leading woodworking teams.
- In‑depth knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and materials.
- Proven ability to strategically plan and execute initiatives for operational excellence.
- Strong problem‑solving capabilities and adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with both team members and high‑profile customers.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, certifications, and industry standards.
- Technologically savvy, with a proactive approach to integrating innovations into operational processes.
EXPERIENCE:
- 6 – 8 years of distinguished experience in woodworking, with a proven track record of leadership and managerial responsibilities, or equivalent military or practical experience.
- Team management and leadership experience.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
Compensation includes the posted base salary range and does not reflect potential commission, incentive, bonus, or other additional compensation opportunities, where applicable. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job‑related compensatory factors.
In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in Tri Mark’s benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
