Position Summary

POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLY The Deputy Director of Communications and Support assists the Director with managing several functional areas within the public safety department including the dispatch center for medical, security, and law enforcement personnel, public reception counter, records management, property management, and inventory and supply. Responsibilities include selection, training, directing, monitoring, and evaluating personnel assigned to these areas. This position also assists the Director with developing and implementing formal procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices and industry standards.

Must be available to respond to emergencies 24/7. Must receive Nebraska NCIC telecommunications certification within one year. The incumbent will serve on committees committed to safety on campus and within the Omaha community and assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Communications and Support.
