Nature of Work:This is supervisory and administrative work overseeing the operations and management of the Omaha Public Safety Training Center (OPSTC), a facility that includes improvements constructed by the City of Omaha and the Nebraska Military Department (Army National Guard). Multiple City departments, including Police, Fire, Public Works, Human Resources, and the Army National Guard, utilize the OPSTC facility. Work involves overseeing the management, operation, and administration of the facility, which includes areas reserved for the exclusive, joint, and common use of the City of Omaha and the Army National Guard.
Duties include scheduling reservations for the facility, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring the facility meets both the current needs and long-term goals for usage of the facility. Supervision is exercised over subordinate staff. An incumbent in this position exercises considerable independence in the performance of duties and responsibilities and receives general guidance from a superior.
Education and Experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through, but are not limited to, the following combination of education and/or experience.
Two years of college-level coursesANDFive (5) years of experience managing a facility.
OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in municipal budgeting and contract development preferred.

Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license at time of application.
- Must maintain a telephone for emergency after hours contact.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Range:$83,324.80 with step increases to $ Annually
Benefits: Forty-hour work week. Paid leave per year: twelve days vacation; five days management; fifteen days sick; and fifteen holidays. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of, and ability to operate, computers and other technology using standard or customized computer or systems software applications appropriate to the assigned tasks.
- Skill in developing and managing an annual operating budget.
- Skill in managing competing priorities to ensure equitable access to the facility.
- Ability to learn and adapt to advances in computer and electronics device technology and software.
- Ability to learn the various advanced technology systems housed and utilized in the facility, including simulators, audio/visual equipment, security surveillance, and access control systems.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and work assignments and to maintain records of work completed.
- Ability to be attentive to detail and enter information accurately.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, and with members of the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to adhere to safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to sit continuously, to stand and walk frequently, and reach, bend, stoop, push and pull up occasionally.
- Ability to use up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally to move objects, twenty-five (25) pounds of force frequently, and lesser amounts of force continuously to move objects.
