2nd Shift CNC Machinist
Conductix-Wampfler, a leading global manufacturer in the mobile electrification market, is looking to add a career-minded machinist to their team. We are seeking someone with a quality-focused and continuous improvement mindset. In this position, you will assist with daily production and scheduling and setup of both CNC and conventional machines. You will work with a variety of materials and components and handle special setups for customer projects.
This is a 2nd shift position.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or completion of an apprenticeship in Machine/Tool and Die Technology
- Ability to run and set up both conventional and program CNC equipment
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a quality environment
- Exhibit problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills

SummarySet up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished workpiece, the sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
- Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Sits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
- Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
- Con fers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Experience with building fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning.
- Responsible for checking the accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing offices' input to ensure customer final product is correct and within quality acceptance guidelines.
- Any changes or corrections must be communicated to appropriate departments so future product output is consistent with customer expectations.
- Understands, supports, implements, and sustains 5S program initiatives and goals.

Education and/or ExperienceAssociate's degree (A.
A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related experience and/or training; or a minimum of four years of job shop related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Or certification of completion of a Certified Apprenticeship Program
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and technical procedures. Ability to write. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
