Precision Machinist Operator – Afternoon Shift

Our client is hiring a Precision Machinist Operator for the afternoon shift to support the production of high-quality, custom components in a fast-paced, quality-driven shop environment.
This is a hands-on role for a skilled machinist who enjoys variety, complex setups, and working to exact specifications. If you take pride in craftsmanship, problem-solving, and delivering parts that meet tight tolerances, this opportunity is built for you.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate both CNC and conventional machines, including mills and lathes
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Calculate speeds, feeds, threading, and tolerances; adjust programs and setups as needed
- Select tooling, build fixtures, and perform trial runs to verify accuracy
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools and ensure quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with engineering and production teams
- Support safety, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
- 3–5+ years of hands-on machining experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment
- Ability to independently set up and run CNC and manual machines
- Strong math skills, including geometry and trigonometry applied to machining
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and blueprint reading
- Experience building fixtures and making real-time machining adjustments
- Commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork
- Associate degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience
- Competitive pay: $27–$32 per hour
