Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and is responsible for conducting quality inspections of in‑process production parts and finished goods. You will support production in developing and implementing quality procedures in support of the company's Quality Management System (QMS). This position is accountable for achieving continuous quality improvement and for meeting or exceeding the expectations of the Leadership Team.

This position is Monday through Friday, full time, 7:00 AM to 3:15 PM.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing or production environment; preferably in injection molding.
Essential Functions
  • Perform inspections of components, assemblies, sub‑assemblies, and finished goods for fit, form, function in addition to physical characteristics and drawing‑defined dimensions at the onset of each production run and document results.
  • Conduct inline inspections of molded, automated, and manually assembled production parts through random sampling and document results.
  • Control nonconforming products discovered during inspection or test processes.
  • Perform transactions within the ERP system as required.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and employee training of document control on inspection sheets, quality plans and in‑line assembly inspection sheets as it relates to the production process and methods of detecting nonconforming products.
  • Maintain and improve product quality by performing quality inspections and providing training to manufacturing on methods used in production.
  • Perform re‑inspection of parts that have been sorted and or reworked by manufacturing.
  • Make recommendations on quality assurance plans used in identifying critical control points and preventive measures, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures.
  • May initiate an Engineering Change Request (ECR), detailing the nature and reason for the proposed change and attaching supporting documentation (e.g., Bill of Materials (BOM), production drawing, etc.).
  • May be asked to participate in various meetings in support of quality and or production efforts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, pin gages, weigh scales, etc.
  • Ability to perform transactions in the ERP system related to job functions.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Above average organization, communication and human relations skills.
