OverviewOur Midwestern roots run deep. Founded in 1974, Lanoha Nurseries, Inc. is one of the largest family-owned and operated nursery, garden center, and landscape design and construction firms in the Midwest. With over 700 acres in nursery production, our team cultivates, maintains, and installs the largest selection of homegrown trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals throughout the metro. For more than 50 years, Lanoha has been an industry leader and a trusted name in our community.
That same commitment to quality extends to Lanoha Ironworks, our in-house custom metal fabrication shop. Ironworks builds the steel elements found across our landscapes and properties, including entrance monuments, gates, railings, pergolas, planters, fire pits, signage, truck beds, and equipment attachments. We are adding a Custom Metal Fabricator to the Ironworks team, working alongside our Lead Fabricator to bring designer concepts to life.
This is a role for a skilled, self-sufficient craftsman who takes ownership of their work and delivers it at a high standard. It is also a place to grow. A fabricator who proves themselves here will find real opportunities to advance as their skills and craft develop.
A great fabricator brings more than welding skills. You bring a creative mind, sound judgment, and the drive to see a job through without anyone looking over your shoulder. We’re looking for someone who can take a concept and build it right. That includes:
- Proven experience in custom metal fabrication.
- Strong MIG and TIG welding skills, and the confidence to work a variety of metals well.
- A creative mind that can take an idea and turn it into reality.
- The ability to read shop drawings and build from them accurately.
- Sharp judgment in selecting the right material for the job.
- A mechanically inclined, hands-on approach to solving problems at the table.
- A self-sufficient work ethic, with the focus and drive to own a project and deliver it at a high standard.
At Ironworks, the work is hands-on and always changing. One project is a set of custom containers from a designer’s sketch, the next is a one-off piece or an adjustment that makes existing metalwork fit a job just right. We need a fabricator who can take that work and run with it.
- Fabricate, assemble, and finish custom metal products.
- Build custom containers and pieces from designer concepts and shop drawings.
- Adjust and adapt existing metalwork to fit the needs of a project.
- Cut, bend, and weld a variety of metals with MIG and TIG.
- Read shop drawings and turn them into finished, accurate builds.
- Take ownership of your projects and see them through to a high standard.
- Compensation is based on your skill, experience, and proven craftsmanship, and reflects the value an experienced fabricator brings.
- On-the-job training and the chance to keep growing your craft.
- Room to advance as your skills develop and you take on more.
- An energetic, focused, and creative work environment.
- Paid vacation and paid holidays.
- Health, vision, and dental insurance.
- A 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
