Packer, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Packer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for packaging electronic products and materials for shipment, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with customer requirements and company standards. The Packer plays a key role in supporting production operations by verifying product information, preparing shipments, and ensuring all packaging and labeling processes are completed accurately.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Package products according to work instructions, specifications, and customer requirements
• Inspect products prior to packaging to verify quality, accuracy, and completeness
• Label packages and prepare shipping documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements
• Maintain accurate production and packaging records as required by ISO 9001 procedures
• Identify and report product defects, or damaged materials as necessary
• Operate packaging tools safely and effectively
• Utilizes foam packaging materials and automated bagging equipment to ensure products are securely packaged and protected from damage during shipment
• Other duties as required

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Hours of work are expected to align with REI's production hours, Monda-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.

Required Education and Experience to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse experience required
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and remain standing for extended periods of time
• Ability to follow written work instructions and procedures accurately
• Basic computer and math skills required
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to regularly lift 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to safely operate various equipment and tools, including but not limited to utility knives, pallet jacks, tape machines, and handheld scanners.
• Basic understanding of quality standards and inspection processes preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills preferred

This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Requires regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50lbs. Typical manufacturing/warehouse environment.
