Overview
Conductix‑Wampfler, a global leader in mobile electrification, seeks a career‑minded machinist focused on quality and continuous improvement. The role involves daily production, scheduling, and setup of manual machines with a variety of materials and special customer projects.
Responsibilities- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
- Mark, scriber, and reference dimensions on material or workpiece to guide machining operations.
- Select, align, and secure holders, fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on mills, lathes, and drill presses.
- Set and calculate controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut; operate machine control media.
- Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjust controls as required.
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
- Setup machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings.
- Assemble parts into complete assemblies and verify dimensions and alignment.
- Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and programmers to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Build fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning and support the 5S program.
- Maintain quality and EHS policy and uphold core values.
- Associate’s degree or completion of an apprenticeship in Machine/Tool or Die Technology.
- Experience 3‑5 years in a manufacturing environment with a quality focus.
- Ability to run and set up manual equipment.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to verify and correct engineering data.
- Proficiency with 5S, quality systems, and EHS requirements.
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two‑year college or technical school and two years related experience; or a minimum of four years of job‑shop related experience; or certification from a qualified apprenticeship program.
