Description
Conductix‑Wampfler, a leading global manufacturer in the mobile electrification market, is looking to add a career-minded machinist to their team. Candidates must be quality-focused and possess a continuous improvement mindset. This role involves assisting with daily production, scheduling, and setup of both CNC and conventional machines, working with a variety of materials and components, and supporting special customer projects.
Responsibilities- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work pieces, the sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for machining.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control data.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications and sets up machines on trial runs to verify accuracy.
- Sits and assembles parts into complete assemblies, verifying dimensions and alignment.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Builds fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning.
- Ensures accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing input; communicates changes or corrections to maintain product quality.
- Supports and upholds the 5S program, quality standards, EHS policies, and core company values.
- Associate’s degree in Machine/Tool and Die Technology, completion of an apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to run and set up both conventional and program CNC equipment.
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a quality environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- 6" machinist scale, 6" caliper (dial or digital), 0-3" micrometer set, 12" machinist combination square set.
- Telescoping gauges 1/2"‑6", transfer punch set, prick and center punch set, carbide scribe, 12" tape measure, scientific calculator.
- Dead‑blow hammer, brass hammer, 12" crescent wrench, end wrenches 7/16"‑1", dial indicator (minimum 1" travel), edge finder, screwdriver set, ball‑pen hammer, machinist handbook.
- Allen wrenches (American 1/16"‑1/2", metric 1.5‑12), thread pitch gauge, indicator and holder, deburr tool, roll‑around toolbox.
- Safety glasses, drills, taps (supplied by company).
