Responsibilities- Coordinate and direct the staff members regarding the activities that need to be performed in the absence of the Plant Manager
- Manage production, maintenance, communicate with suppliers and customers regarding orders, on time deliveries, new product development (in cooperation with and under the guidance of commercial department) and product compliance
- Streamline production processes by analyzing product flow, testing procedures, cycle times and waste reduction
- Perform capacity planning and efficiency maximization studies to make optimum use of equipment and available manpower to ensure better productivity
- Evaluate equipment functionality, safety, and sanitation and report any deficiencies to Plant Manager
- Monitor and confirm daily, weekly, monthly adherence in raw material reconciliation, finished good cycle counting and finished good inventory accuracy
- Monitor and confirm daily, weekly, monthly adherence to raw material and finished goods FIFO (First In First Out) schedule
- Lead in the training and development of employees by managing performance and creating an environment in which they have the opportunity to succeed
- Ensure plant employee communication methods are in place to ensure good communication with all employees is effective
- Ensure cross training is being effective in all work areas to include any succession planning activity
- Demonstrate leadership in the implementation and support of a safety focused culture
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wearing of all required safety gear (PPE)
- Adhere, support, and enforce all company policies and procedures
- Complies with attendance guidelines of the company
- Comply with all food safety/quality related programs and procedures accordingly to support GFSI and regulatory standards
Bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years experience or equivalent is required along with experience in leadership, process improvement and production planning and scheduling.
Experience in the meat processing industry is desired.
Must have proficient computer skills and the ability to communicate well across all levels of the organization.
Physical RequirementsWill be frequently exposed to cool and wet conditions. Must be able to lift up to 30-50 pounds on an occasional basis and be able to work around raw beef, chicken or other similar raw materials and odors.
