Position: Elevator Operator I

Elevator Operator I

1st shift: 6:30am-2:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Must work safely at all times and be involved with safe operation and safety improvement of the plant.
  • Safely operate loading and unloading equipment.
  • Operate equipment used to fill wheat bins in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform any housekeeping duties as assigned, including but not limited to confined space bin cleaning operations.
  • Serve as the area owner of utility‑related areas such as tunnels, galleries, and the rail unload area.
  • Learn and fill in for other positions within the elevator department such as Scale Man, Truck Dump Operator, Mixer, Feed Loader, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as greasing, changing buckets, socks, idlers, patching spouting, replacing spouting, and assist maintenance and contractors with major equipment repairs in a safe manner.
  • Work continuously as a duty job.
  • Recognize grain conditions or factors such as odor, protein content, and IDK, and notify the supervisor when these factors may adversely affect finished product quality or require adjustments.
Qualifications
  • Must work safely, following all safety procedures and using all required safety equipment.
  • Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and other company policies.
  • Must work efficiently; be alert, organized, cooperative, a self‑starter, able to work independently, and make decisions in accordance with operating procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Become familiar with unloading and conveyor/tripper equipment and operate it at maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain orderly duty performance and keep assigned areas neat, organized, and clean.
  • Compute simple math functions, read a tape measure, and follow directions.
  • Work any shift and rotate as needed; must work overtime when required.
  • Pass forklift, bobcat‑shuttle wagon training and operate this equipment safely.
  • Shovel 30 to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Work in dusty, dirty conditions.
  • Communicate well in written and verbal (radio) formats.
  • Document any needed information as required by the performed task.
  • Obtain minimum Ardent Mills LEVEL II electrical certification.
  • Learn PRISM, One Weigh, and use company email.
Physical Requirements
  • Ascend and descend stairs multiple times per day.
  • Climb ladder, step, and extension.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and exert 20 pounds of force.
  • Stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance, and reach at and below shoulder level frequently.
  • Perform bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, loud noise, using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as a dust mask.
  • Work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
