Manual Machinist – Omaha

Conductix‑Wampfler, a leading global manufacturer in the mobile electrification market, is seeking a career‑minded machinist to support daily production, scheduling, and setup of manual machines. The role involves working with a variety of materials and components, handling special setups for customer projects, and maintaining a quality‑focused, continuous‑improvement mindset.

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions, tolerance, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut; enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining, adjusting machine controls or control media as required.
• Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
• Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings.
• Sit and assemble parts into complete assembly.
• Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
• Confere with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Assist with building fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning.
• Check the accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing input, ensuring final product meets customer expectations and quality acceptance guidelines; communicate changes or corrections to appropriate departments.
• Support, implement, and sustain 5S program initiatives and goals.
• Maintain and uphold the quality and EHS policy and core values.

• Associate’s degree in Machine/Tool and Die Technology or completion of an apprenticeship; or equivalent education and experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to a quality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to run and set up manual equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of machine tool setup, machining parameters, and quality control.
• Experience with 5S and maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

• Regular lifting or moving of heavy items; requires close, peripheral, depth perception and vision focus.
