Lead Mechanic

Join our client's team as a Lead Mechanic overseeing the maintenance and repair of aircraft components to ensure airworthiness. You will play a crucial role in ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, in compliance with regulations and customer requirements. As a Lead Mechanic, you will not only perform maintenance tasks but also provide training, mentorship, and guidance to your assigned team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment where safety, quality, and efficiency are paramount.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure completion of maintenance tasks in accordance with federal regulations and company policies.
  • Lead maintenance, preventative maintenance, and approvals for aircraft components.
  • Conduct crew meetings to promote effective communication and ensure work, safety, and quality standards.
  • Order parts, maintain material inventory, and ensure timely submission of engineering requests.
  • Mentor and develop technical and leadership skills within the team.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements for increased efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety requirements and regulations.
  • Monitor and manage labor hours and resources to optimize efficiency.
  • Provide regular feedback, performance coaching, and handle disciplinary matters as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor on task prioritization and completion.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of recent commercial aircraft maintenance or MRO experience.
  • Repairman, Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to mentor and guide team members effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding technical documents and regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems efficiently.
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and major components.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and basic PC skills.
