Elevator Operator I – 1st Shift

Omaha, NE.
Employment Type:
Full time. Hourly Rate: $27.75.
- Work safely at all times and contribute to safe operation and safety improvement of the plant.
- Safely operate loading and unloading equipment.
- Operate equipment used to fill wheat bins efficiently.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including confined‑space bin cleaning operations.
- Serve as area owner of tunnels, galleries, rail unload area, and related areas.
- Learn and fill in for other elevator department positions such as Scale Man, Truck Dump Operator, Mixer, and Feed Loader.
- Perform preventative maintenance: grease, change buckets, change socks, change idlers, patch and replace spouting, and assist maintenance and contractors with major repairs.
- Recognize grain condition factors (odor, protein, IDK) and notify supervisor or adjust to maintain product quality.
- Work continuously (continuous duty job).
- Work any shift and rotate as needed; overtime as required.
- Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, and company policies.
- Be efficient, alert, organized, and cooperative.
- Self‑starter capable of working independently and making decisions per procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Familiar with unloading and conveyor/tripper equipment.
- Maintain neat, organized, clean assigned areas.
- Ability to perform simple math, read tape measure, and follow directions.
- Work any shift, rotate, and work overtime if required.
- Pass forklift, Bobcat–shuttle wagon training, and operate equipment safely.
- Be able to shovel 30–50 lbs frequently.
- Work in dusty, dirty conditions.
- Communicate effectively written and verbal (radio).
- Document required information per tasks.
- Obtain minimum Ardent Mills Level II electrical certification.
- Learn PRISM, One Weigh, and use company email.
- Ascend and descend stairs multiple times per day, climb ladder and extension.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and exert up to 20 lbs of force.
- Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance, and reach at shoulder level and below.
- Perform duties that may include bending, lifting, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely.
- Work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, loud noise, using PPE such as dust mask.
- Work in elevated areas (4 ft and above).
- Team members must be clean shaven where respiratory protection is required, ensuring a proper seal with respirator/N‑95 dust mask.
