** The Knife Operator’s responsibilities include:
Assists team members to produce quality product in an efficient manner while following HACCP, Good Manufacturing practices and production work lists.

** Director of Meat Operations, Production Managers and Supervisors
** Positions that Report to you:
** None

* Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
*** Maintaining and ensuring food safety. Report any food safety deviations to your supervisor immediately.
* Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
* Follows production list provided by supervisor.
* Ability to understand weights/measures and identify correct packaging.
* Following company GMP’s and SOP’s.
* Portion cut product to specific weights.
* Must be able to sharpen knife.
* Perform various clean up duties such as cleaning scales, maintaining knives and others.
* Must be able to read and understand product dating requirements.
* Works alongside others on a line or independently to complete production and clean up requirements.
* Performs other job-related duties and assists in other areas of plant as needed.
* Other duties as assigned by management.
** Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
*** Knife cutting skills.
* Ability to sharpen a knife.
* Attention to detail and follow through.
* Ability to read and interpret written or verbal instructions.
* Must be knowledgeable of safety program, procedures, sanitary practices and standards.
*
* Education and Experience:
*** Prefer food manufacturing and knife cutting experience.
*
* Physical Requirements:
** This is considered an unskilled position. Frequent to constant handling, grasping, constant listening, talking, hearing, seeing, reading, dealing with people, influencing others, evaluating information, supervising a line.
*
* Working Conditions:
*** Duties performed in production area.
* Will be required to work in other production capacities or seek supplies in warehouse as needed.
* Ability to adapt to changes throughout daily operation.
* Ability to move, stand bend and lift throughout work shift.
* Job requires standing/sitting in place for all of shift.
** Equipment Used to Perform Job:
** Production machinery, Knives, Copy machine and Two-way radio.
