Position: Machinist (Overnights)

What You’ll Do

This full-time, permanent position in a manufacturing environment plays a critical role in the production of charitable and lottery gaming products, including pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets) and bingo paper. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of production machines and machine tools, fabricating, repairing, and assembling parts to ensure optimal performance of equipment used in the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in machinery maintenance, especially in high-volume production settings. They will thrive in a hands‑on environment, diagnose issues quickly, perform complex repairs, and manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime. Familiarity with a range of machine tools and equipment used in the printing and gaming industries, along with strong problem‑solving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team, are essential.

Duties and

Responsibilities Include:
  • Setup and operation of mills, lathes, grinders, CNC equipment, and other machine tools used in the creation of pull‑tab tickets and bingo paper.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting machine malfunctions, diagnosing issues, determining necessary repairs, dismantling and reassembling equipment quickly to avoid production delays.
  • Measuring, cutting, and shaping metal parts to precise specifications, using standard shop tools and advanced machinery such as CNC mills.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, machine specifications, and electrical schematics, adjusting machine tools to meet design specifications and tolerances.
  • Performing regular preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve machine lifespan, inspecting equipment daily for proper function.
  • Tracking spare parts inventory, maintaining organized records of parts used, repairs completed, and machine status.
  • Collaborating with operators and team members to address operational issues, improve equipment reliability and production efficiency, and providing input to management on maintenance priorities and equipment needs.
  • Adhering to all safety regulations, following standard operating procedures, and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned to support production needs and maintaining a clean, organized maintenance shop.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in machining or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with production machinery in a manufacturing setting, preferably in gaming or printing.
  • Machine certifications (e.g., CNC, Lathe) preferred.
  • Skills in welding, machining, and equipment repair.
  • Proficiency with mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines.
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of machine tolerances, tooling, and materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications and maintenance tracking software.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
