Description

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules to ensure the timely and efficient manufacture of electronic products while meeting customer delivery commitments. This position collaborates closely with multiple departments to balance production capacity, material availability, and customer priorities. The Production Scheduler monitors production progress, identifies scheduling constraints, and proactively adjusts schedules to maximize productivity and on-time delivery while supporting company objectives.

Essential Functions include the following:

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, material availability, and production priorities
  • Coordinate production schedules to ensure efficient workflow and resource utilization
  • Review customer orders, engineering changes, and production requirements to establish realistic production timelines
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address material shortages, labor constraints, equipment downtime, engineering changes, or shifting customer priorities
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Inventory Control to ensure materials and components are available to support scheduled production
  • Work closely with Supervisors to identify production bottlenecks and implement scheduling adjustments to improve throughput
  • Maintain accurate production schedules within the company's computer system
  • Analyze production capacity and recommend schedule modifications to optimize equipment utilization and labor efficiency
  • Track key performance indicators including schedule attainment, on-time delivery, production efficiency, and work order completion. Will also be responsible for supporting improvements in:
  • On-Time Delivery
  • Work Order Completion
  • Manufacturing Throughput
  • Inventory Turns
  • Schedule Stability
  • Material Availability
  • ERP Data Accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, workflow efficiency, ERP utilization, inventory management and cross-functional communication through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure scheduling practices comply with company procedures, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Participate in production meetings and provide schedule status updates
  • Support ERP data accuracy by identifying scheduling discrepancies and working with appropriate departments to correct data issues
  • Coordinate implementation of Engineering Change Orders into production schedules while minimizing disruption
  • Escalate material shortages, capacity constraints, engineering delays, and other issues that could impact customer delivery commitments
  • Maintain schedule integrity by ensuring production priorities are accurately reflected within the ERP system and communicated to all effected departments
  • Work with Production, Purchasing, Inventory/Document Control, and Customer Service to proactively identify risks and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Other duties as required

Required Education and Experience to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of production scheduling, production planning, or manufacturing coordination experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing is preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, or production planning techniques is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing ERP systems to manage production scheduling, work orders, material planning, and production reporting
  • Ability to communicate scheduling priorities and production risks in a professional and timely manner
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
