Manufacturing ​/ Production Operator, Packaging Engineer

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of packaging equipment.
• Perform procedural tasks safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot equipment with assistance and solve problems.
• Effectively use safety equipment such as respirators and protective clothing.
• Follow operator standard work to maintain packaging line Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Provide feedback and corrective actions when processes during the shift do not meet target OEE.
• Operate forklift and various types of packaging equipment.
• Work overtime and second shift hours 2:00pm - 10:00pm, subject to change.
• Generate and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain and improve safety, environmental and housekeeping standards.
• Work within site policies and procedures.

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Prior production, packaging or quality control experience desired.
• Knowledge of packaging lines maintaining at least 85% Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Participation in near miss/incident reporting and 5
  
  WHY incident investigations.
• Experience with lean idea generation and behavioral based safety observations to promote continuous improvement.
• Forklift operator experience.
• All applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
• Must be able to wear the required PPE.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs up to 50 lbs once per day.
