Slicer Technician - 3rd Shift

Job Overview

Machine Operator at Smithfield Foods.

• Operate meat cutting/packaging machines and other equipment to process meat products for consumers.
• Perform technical tasks using computerized equipment.
• Maintain safety, quality, and teamwork standards on production line.
• Work scheduled shift, including 3rd shift 10:15 PM - 7:00 AM; may require overtime.

• Stand on concrete or platforms up to 12‑hour shift.
• Work with animal blood, carcass parts, knives, in cold or hot areas (20–40°F or >100°F).
• Wear PPE: hard hat, hearing/eye protection, steel‑toed safety shoes.
• Work in wet, humid, noisy environment; lift up to 60 lbs; use mechanical assistance as needed.
• Climb ladders, walk long distances, bend, stoop, twist repetitively.
• Relocation package available.

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Good hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work shift and overtime as required.
• May need certification to operate specific equipment.

• Hourly starting pay $20.25/hour, plus $0.75/hour shift differential for 3rd shift.
