Packaging Engineer

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you will support the development, testing, and commercialization of packaging solutions across multiple manufacturing operations. This role provides opportunities to build experience across innovation, cost savings, manufacturing continuity, and supply chain initiatives.

• Support packaging projects from concept through commercialization, including testing, validation, and implementation activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to identify packaging improvements, resolve technical issues, and support business objectives.
• Plan and execute plant, pilot plant, and laboratory trials while documenting and communicating results.
• Assist with packaging specifications, packaging testing, cost savings initiatives, and manufacturing continuity efforts.
• Troubleshoot packaging and production challenges and support continuous improvement activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of packaging experience, preferably in consumer‑packaged goods manufacturing.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, equipment, testing methods, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of food safety principles, food processing regulations, and product interaction with packaging.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers.
• Financial awareness to support project decisions and business objectives.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% to manufacturing sites.

This role may require you to operate in manufacturing facilities. You may need to walk around the facility, climb stairs or ladders, kneel, perform repetitive tasks requiring hand‑eye coordination, and lift or carry materials of varying weight and size. The environment may involve high noise levels and varying temperatures.

Pay range: $64,000 – $95,000 annually. Compensation is based on location, experience, and skill level.
