Job Description General Function

The Production Supervisor is responsible for day‑to‑day activities to achieve established metrics and standards for safety, quality, production, customer service, and people management. The role develops high‑performing teams, drives continuous improvement, inspects performance, and builds a best‑in‑class working environment. The supervisor leads production teams to achieve daily goals and objectives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of all aspects within the manufacturing area.
  • Monitor and evaluate productivity through team and individual metrics.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes and coach employees on such initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate company policies and procedures to the team.
  • Manage and coach employees, ensuring timely performance reviews and proper documentation of performance issues.
  • Responsible for effective scheduling of vacation hours, considering seasonality workloads.
  • Maintain production records as well as machine maintenance records and charting.
  • Communicate with off‑site vendors for troubleshooting office and lab machine errors and breakdowns using remote interfaces.
  • Maintain close association with accounts, internal and external, and address product information and Rx service issues.
  • Act as a role model and foster motivation, commitment and teamwork within the workplace.
  • Maintain the work area in a neat, clean, and organized condition.
  • Understand and follow all company and manufacturer’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all attendance and safety rules and regulations. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and HIPAA protected information.
  • Assist others as necessary to keep work current and meet deadlines, demonstrating a good attitude and a willingness to cooperate.
  • Provide proper training, work direction and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers; attend in‑house or sponsored training meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to solve various types of problems involving multiple departments.
  • Ability to perform to high levels of competency in all aspects of lab manufacturing.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, DVI software).
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to maintain an even workflow and a motivating work environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manage interactions with internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. Employees may also be offered a competitive bonus or commission plan. The benefits package may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
