Team Members in the various production departments (Fabrication, Hydraulics, Assembly) are primarily responsible to produce quality parts in a timely manner assuring that customer expectations are met. Members may be asked to operate machines such as presses, shears, saws, slitters, pushers, skivers, crimpers, scribers, etc. and may also be involved in weighing, bagging, and packaging. Members m ay also be asked to use test equipment such as calipers, test pressure equipment, thread gauges, fluke meter, ect.
Team members will be directed by department Team Leaders, Plant Manager, and or Production Scheduler for their daily assignments and may be asked to work in another department as work load dictates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain production/hose/repack/assembly equipment
- Learn and follow all Quality Policies particularly the policies dealing with production issues
- Adhere to all Policies and Procedures and the GT Employee Handbook rules
- Produce quality parts while striving for zero defects and spoilage
- Communicate with Team Leaders, Plant Manager, or the Production Scheduler on problems, questions, or concerns
- Completion of forklift training and operating the equipment safely
- Stay current on preventative maintenance programs
- Work as a team member with all other GT members
- Experience in operating production machinery, and power equipment
- Ability to use measuring equipment including tape measures and calipers
- Ability to read and/or learn to read customer blue prints
- Ability to communicate, read and understand English
- * Hydraulic fittings or Crimping Machines a Plus*
- Communicate verbally in English with co-workers
- Basic computer skills helpful to learn the GT ERP System, windows, RF gun
- Basic computer skills helpful to learn to use certain testing equipment
- Team members must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. These skills are necessary in many aspects of the job.
- Job will require using hands to grab, lift, feel, pull, push;
Some bending, squatting, walking, standing, reaching - Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. And have the ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Fast paced work day that will necessitate multiple orders to be produced
- Temperature will range from 60 – 100 degrees depending on season
- Some overtime may be necessary
