Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician provides safe, reliable preventive maintenance and repairs to production lines and assembly equipment. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, preventing product damage or loss, and supporting setup, changeover, and troubleshooting of production lines in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on assigned production lines and equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts, machinery, and systems.
  • Set up production lines and equipment accurately and efficiently, completing required setups with minimal follow-up and in an expeditious manner.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues as they arise, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Determine appropriate measures to avoid future equipment and process problems and contribute to long-term reliability improvements.
  • Recommend improvements for changeovers, operations, product quality, and overall production efficiency.
  • Comply with all company safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out and other applicable safety protocols, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Rules.
  • Monitor adjustments, speeds, and moving components during production runs to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Report problems, hazards, concerns, operator errors, and other issues to the Production Supervisor or appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Maintain company records, tools, and equipment in good operating condition and complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Keep the Maintenance Shop and line equipment cabinets clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with production, maintenance, and other team members to coordinate work and resolve issues.
  • Attend company-scheduled training and stay current with procedures, safety requirements, and equipment knowledge.
  • Perform all work onsite within the manufacturing facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production and maintenance operations.
Essential Skills
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude for working on production and assembly equipment.
  • Understanding of electrical circuit design and the ability to interpret and apply that knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read electrical prints and schematics and troubleshoot electrical circuits up to 460V.
  • Experience using diagnostic testing equipment for electrical devices.
  • Working knowledge of motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo drives.
  • Working knowledge of automation control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and basic programming concepts.
  • Comprehension of electrical systems, hydraulic operations, and pneumatic components used in industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Intermediate-level computer skills for documentation, communication, and basic system interfaces.
  • Advanced reading, writing, and math abilities to interpret technical documentation and complete accurate records.
  • Ability to inspect work and make sound quality control decisions.
  • Ability to use accurate weights and measurement equipment in metric units.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English competently to ensure safe and effective communication.
  • Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Ability to work safely and consistently follow all company safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working as a maintenance technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
  • In troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulics and pneumatics in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Comfort working with automation and control systems, including PLC-based equipment.
  • Ability to stay organized and maintain clean, orderly work spaces such as maintenance shops and equipment cabinets.
