Maintenance Technician

This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems in a clean, refrigerated manufacturing facility that produces yogurt. Maintenance Technicians perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, support safe and efficient operations across multiple shifts, and help ensure consistent product quality by minimizing equipment downtime.
Responsibilities- Perform mechanical maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Conduct electrical maintenance tasks, including basic troubleshooting and repair of electrical components and systems.
- Carry out preventative maintenance activities on machinery and equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
- Diagnose equipment issues quickly and accurately, and implement effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Work with PLC-controlled equipment, including systems using Allen-Bradley technology, to support stable and efficient processes when required by the role.
- Inspect machinery and production lines regularly to identify potential problems and address them before they impact operations.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and process control teams to support consistent product quality and safe manufacturing practices.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and facility guidelines while performing maintenance in a refrigerated, food-production environment.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support traceability and continuous improvement.
- Support shift coverage needs, including working scheduled overtime when required to maintain equipment and meet production demands.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a mechanical maintenance technician.
- 1 to 2 years of electrical maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working with production or industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance on machinery and facility systems.
- Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment;
Allen-Bradley PLC experience is required for the Process Control role. - High school diploma or higher.
- Ability to work assigned day or night shifts, including scheduled overtime.
- Comfort working in a refrigerated manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to following safety and sanitation procedures in a food-production facility.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in the food industry is preferred but not required.
- Experience working in both lab and production floor environments is beneficial for quality-focused roles.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a busy manufacturing setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing equipment issues.
- Willingness to adapt to updated schedules, processes, and equipment as the facility evolves.

WorkEnvironment
The facility is a yogurt manufacturing plant with a very clean, refrigerated work environment designed to meet strict sanitation standards. Work areas are spacious, and you may collaborate closely with up to 10 other individuals on the floor. Attire that is exposed to chemicals or product remains at the facility to comply with sanitation rules. All employees wear hair nets, facial hair guards, shoe covers, and hearing protection while on the production floor.
Maintenance Technicians work on structured day or night schedules, typically 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., on either Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday, with overtime extending shifts to 6:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. as needed.
This is a Permanent position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Company benefits will be provided upon interview.
