Plastics Manufacturing Production Operator

Required

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, related experience. Preferred License/Certification: OSHA-10 or equivalent workplace safety training preferred.

Required Qualifications /Skills/

Experience:

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to enter, review, and track production or quality information.
  • Ability to operate plastics manufacturing equipment while following work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Ability to load, unload, sort, stage, and move raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the production process.
  • Ability to inspect in-process and completed plastic parts for quality, dimensions, defects, and conformance to specifications.
  • Ability to monitor equipment operation, identify basic process or equipment issues, and promptly report concerns.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow procedures for material handling, storage, and disposal.
  • Ability to meet assigned productivity targets and adapt to changing manufacturing priorities.
  • Ability to safely handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for the majority of the work shift and perform frequent physical activities, including lifting, bending, twisting, pushing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as required.

Preferred Qualifications /Skills/

Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience operating production or manufacturing machinery.
  • Experience performing routine equipment maintenance or basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with warehouse staging, inventory systems, handheld barcode scanners, or basic Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Previous experience in plastics manufacturing, injection molding, extrusion, or a similar production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently follow safety, quality, and production procedures.

Plastics Manufacturing Production Operator Overview:

Supports plastics manufacturing operations by handling materials, operating production equipment, inspecting finished products, and maintaining efficient production flow. Works closely with production team members, leads, and operations partners to meet daily production, quality, safety, and schedule requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Operate plastics manufacturing equipment according to established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Load, unload, sort, stage, and move raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the production process.
  • Inspect in-process and completed plastic parts for dimensions, defects, quality, and conformance to specifications.
  • Monitor equipment during operation and identify and report basic process or equipment issues.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance activities as required.
  • Enter, review, and track production or quality information using basic computer systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with site requirements.
  • Follow procedures for material handling, storage, recycling, and disposal.
  • Support inventory and material movement activities, including use of handheld barcode scanners or WMS systems when applicable.
  • Meet assigned productivity and quality targets while adapting to changing production priorities.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Work overtime, including weekends and holidays, when required to support production needs.
