Contract Rate: $21.63 – $24.04 / hour. Final contract rate is open to negotiation based on experience and actual product delivered.

Paid monthly on the 1st or 15th. Contractor must submit an hourly invoice for services rendered at least 5 full business days prior to the payment date.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position for a specific 12-24 month project. The selected contractor will be responsible for their own income taxes, insurances, and equipment.

This role is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits, paid time off, or W-2 enrollment.

Candidates must submit two writing samples to be considered.

Hurrdat is a media, marketing, and entertainment agency founded in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2010. Over the years the agency has grown to a uniquely well‑rounded marketing and advertising company with in‑house creative, PR, video production, podcasting, sports marketing, venues, and custom apparel.

The agency serves more than 200 clients in 8 countries and across 43 U.S. states, ranging from local businesses to enterprise organizations.

As Content Editor, you will review, edit, and provide feedback on website content, blog posts, and other digital marketing copy for an enterprise client in the senior living industry. This engagement has an initial term of 12 months, with an option to extend for up to 12 months based on business needs.

Your work supports content marketing and SEO efforts, ensuring that all content aligns with client expectations and established digital marketing strategies. Contractors may choose to work on‑site at Hurrdat’s office and are welcome to participate in team collaboration sessions, although attendance is not required.

• Proofread, copy edit, and comprehensively review written content with overall digital marketing strategy, search engine optimization goals, and client needs in mind.
• Review AI drafts for brand voice, factual accuracy, EEAT best practices, and on‑page SEO.
• Provide constructive feedback for writers on all content marketing projects.
• Collaborate with Sr. Content Editor and other team members to execute content marketing tasks.
• Ensure all content adheres to both client and agency standards.
• Deliverables are expected according to agreed‑upon project timelines.

• Degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Advertising, or a related field.
• Experience in content creation, copywriting, editing, or a similar position.
• Excellent editing skills to review work for spelling and grammatical errors, word choice, organization, and formatting issues.
• Outstanding creative, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Experience creating or editing content for senior living or related healthcare industries strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with SEO‑driven keyword research preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
