Role Description
Looking to hire on an ASAP basis but also expect a rigorous application process. Starting part-time with the goal of scaling to full-time over the next two to three months, maybe faster. Open to a full-time role from the start for the right person, could do some in-house work for Service Stories. Expect 3 months getting to know each other before any permanent decision made.
You’ll be leveraging the Service Stories product to generate content, so you won’t be writing everything from scratch. But you will need to shape that content specifically for our customers. You’ll also create topical, seasonal, events-based, and localized content around the Service Stories work to support that content as hubs.
Qualifications
- Experience writing for SEO and AI search. You understand how content earns rankings on Google and gets cited by AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews
- Familiarity with tools like Ahrefs and AI visibility analytics
Strong grasp of keyword research, topical authority, and internal linking
- Ability to copy edit, not just write or use AI to generate content. You catch the small things and can polish content to a publishable standard
- Experience in service industries strongly preferred, especially auto repair, and more broadly in local service businesses
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a full hybrid, mostly remote environment
- Minimum 3-5 years experience, not looking for someone just starting out but also not necessarily someone with lifelong experience. Pitch me.
