Founded in 2020, the Midlands African Chamber is a growing, membership-based organization dedicated to advancing the economic power of underserved communities. Through high-impact programs, events, and partnerships, MAC provides tools, visibility, and support to help businesses start, scale, and succeed.

What You’ll Do

As Programs Coordinator, you’ll be at the forefront of planning, managing, and promoting MAC’s signature programs and events. Your work will foster business development, leadership, and community connection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Coordinate and manage signature programs like MAC Xcelerator, Rising CEOs, Pitch Black, Suit Up, Umoja
    , and Power Hour —ensuring they run smoothly and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Event Execution: Organize workshops, mixers, and community events that bring members and partners together to network, learn, and grow.
  • Community Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with members, sponsors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Sponsorship & Fundraising: Assist in securing and managing sponsor ships, preparing donor communications, and tracking grant deliverables.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, onboard, and engage program participants and volunteers, fostering a vibrant network of contributors.
  • Marketing & Social Media: Serve as the lead communicator for all programs across platforms (Linked In, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Administrative Support: Provide day-to-day coordination and program support, including correspondence, scheduling, and reporting.
What You Bring
  • A strong commitment to MAC’s mission of economic empowerment and equity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships.
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and multitasking ability.
  • Tech-savviness:
    Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, and social media tools.
  • Adaptability and initiative in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Knowledge of African and African American communities and nonprofit ecosystems is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work some evenings or weekends for events.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum one year of experience in program coordination, or nonprofit operations preferred.
