Position Title: Development Coordinator
Reports To: Executive Director
Organizational OverviewFor more than 25 years, Collective for Hope (CFH) has provided grief support services in the Omaha Metro Area. We offer a range of FREE peer‑led and age‑appropriate grief‑related programming, including support groups (multi‑week cohorts and drop‑in), youth activities/camps, and remembrance events, as well as a variety of community outreach and educational offerings. We will also launch a new short‑term clinical grief counseling program in fall of 2026.
We endeavor to help individuals and families process and work through their grief, develop new tools for coping, and find connections within a community of peers. On a collective level, we work collaboratively to create a more grief‑affirming and resilient community. To allow for further programmatic growth, CFH will open Omaha’s first dedicated Grief Support Center in September 2026, located at 8000 Chicago Street.
Collective for Hope (CFH) seeks an experienced Development Coordinator to join our team at an exciting time of organizational growth. This dynamic self‑starter will play a critical role in moving CFH’s fundraising efforts forward to grow philanthropic support as we open Omaha’s first dedicated grief support center – A Home for Hope. Reporting directly to the Executive Director and working closely with CFH’s contract Development Consultant/Grant Writer, the Development Coordinator will oversee the administrative functions of the development department, support a variety of projects and efforts related to donor cultivation and stewardship, and plan/coordinate fundraising events.
PrimaryResponsibilities Administrative
- Represent Collective for Hope as a public‑facing position, acting as primary contact for donors
- Manage all aspects of the donor database and serve as primary development user
- Ensure data integrity through accurate data entry and ongoing clean‑up efforts
- Enter all gifts and pledges into the donor database
- Manage the timely acknowledgement of gifts
- Record donor notes to track cultivation, stewardship, and mover management
- Create and run reports and lists
- Manage Development Department calendar, including deadlines, campaigns, events, meetings
- Support Executive Director in scheduling, tracking, and recording donor meetings; assemble materials for cultivation and solicitation visits
- Work with Development Consultant to update and refine departmental policies and procedures
- Maintain integrity of records, including filing key documents and keeping detailed notes
- Assist with tracking development department expenses
- Act as board liaison for fundraising efforts, including Development Committee meetings
- Collaborate with program staff to gather success stories and impact data (measurables and demographics)
- Coordinate individual giving campaigns and annual appeals, including acting as point person with external parties such as graphic designers and printers
- Assist with the writing and editing of appeal letters, e‑mails, social media, acknowledgements, donor newsletters, and grant reports
- Support donor stewardship efforts, including regularly communicating/updating donors on the impact of their contributions
- Support Contract Grant Writer in the grant process, gathering documents and information as needed, proofreading, and assisting with grant prospect research
- Support Executive Director in researching, identifying and creating reports on donor prospects
- Assist in the creation of sponsorship materials – proposals, agreements, and invoices
- Coordinate individual and sponsor benefit fulfillment
- Ensure proper donor recognition for both print and digital
- Coordinate the logistics of donor cultivation and stewardship events
- With support of staff/board, plan and coordinate annual fundraising event, Comfort Food Classic
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, marketing, communication or related field OR equivalent professional experience
