Woodmen Life is looking for a Fraternal Intern to join our team! Ready to make an impact this summer? Woodmen Life is seeking a Fraternal Intern to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will support the implementation of community outreach and public relations programs to grow and retain members in our Sales regions. These programs are designed to enhance Woodmen Life's recognition and support a strong and growing membership.

Our 10-week Summer Internship Program strives to foster a dynamic and innovative work environment by integrating interns who bring fresh perspectives and skills to our organization, contribute to value added work, and enhance our talent pipeline. We

are looking for someone to:
  • Gain broad exposure to the Woodmen Life organization through internship cohort and professional development activities.
  • Summarize and present a capstone presentation highlighting project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings.
  • Assist with Family event and Senior event registration and set up. Attend local events. Document observations of attendee experience and internal processes.
  • Assist with flag event and Common Bond report reviews.
  • Participate in manager supervised audit of  common bond submissions.
  • Participate in manager supervised audit of chapter and regional Facebook pages. Summarize findings in a clear, concise format.
  • Observe WeCare, Giving Together, and chapter events to make recommendations about processes and communications.
  • Gain exposure to our Public Relations strategy and report observations to manager.
  • Conduct competitive analysis of member-based organizations to identify trends and unique offerings.
  • Review marketing materials, pull lead lists and provide recommendations on how to engage Focus Forward Scholarship recipients in the future.
  • Participate in planning and vendor calls with Lifes Perks program. Collaborate with marketing for promotion.
  • Create project kits for Giving Together and make recommendations on what a member focused Giving Together program might look like.
  • Review submissions for Community Champions contest for eligibility and review background on nominated organizations.
  • Review marketing materials for Financial Education extra. Research financial wellness trends and provide recommendations for participation and awareness.
  • Review submission orders for chapter supplies and awards. Process for shipping.
  • Complete daily member transfers and EApp transfers.
  • Scan and file documents into MHC for chapters and Jurisdictions.
  • Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality in accordance with the expectations established by your supervisor and Woodmen Life policy.
  • Abides by all company security policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
We Need Someone Who Has:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to philanthropy and community betterment.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to delegate effectively.
  • Sound judgment and critical thinking ability.
  • Proven ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly and effectively.
  • Adaptable attitude, a self-starter and creative.
  • Thrives in a goal centric environment and requires little regular supervision.
  • Cloud-based workflow management system experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong social media skills preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot and other generative A.I. tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to work across organization with all stakeholders and to foster positive working relationships.
  • The ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.
