Hours: 15–20 hours/week (flexible based on academic requirements)
Hourly Rate: Based upon experience and qualifications
Reports To: Director of Finance and Administration (will work with multiple departments)
Position
Purpose:
Essential Pregnancy Services is a life‑affirming and faith‑based nonprofit pregnancy resource center that is dedicated to assisting women and families withunplanned pregnancies by helping them build a healthy future through support, education, health services, material assistance and referrals. The greatest needs of a teen or a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy is the medical care needed to answer her immediate questionson pregnancy, as well as the opportunity to be listened to in an environment that issafe and confidential.
The intern provides hands‑on support in client services, education, outreach, and administrative operations. This role offers practical experience in nonprofit work, maternal‑health support, client advocacy, and community engagement. Interns gain exposure to counseling environments, resource management, and early‑childhood or pregnancy‑related education.
Key Responsibilities Client Support & Services- Assist with client intake, greeting clients, and helping them navigate services.
- Provide hospitality and maintain a calm, supportive environment.
- Help distribute baby supplies, educational materials, and parenting resources.
- Support staff during options counseling or educational appointments (observational unless trained).
- Help organize and prepare materials for parenting classes, pregnancy education, or early‑childhood programs.
- Assist in documenting client progress in educational programs (e.g., Bright Course).
- Participate in outreach or prevention‑education activities as assigned.
- Maintain accurate client records and assist with data entry.
- Help manage inventory of baby supplies, educational materials, and donations.
- Support staff with scheduling, follow‑up calls, and resource coordination.
- Assist with social media, newsletters, or community awareness materials.
- Help prepare print materials or outreach packets for churches, schools, and partner organizations.
- May include evening or weekend events.
- Attends monthly EPS Staff Meeting, when available
- Follow EPS approved policies and procedures
- Responsible for other duties as assigned
- Passion for serving women, children, and families in a life‑affirming, compassionate environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized, dependable, and able to follow through on tasks.
- Comfortable working with diverse populations and sensitive situations.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Mission alignment and agreement with the EPS’s mission, vision and values is required.
Interns will gain experience in:
- Nonprofit operations and client advocacy.
- Maternal‑health and early‑childhood support environments.
- Community outreach and resource networking.
- Professional documentation and client‑service workflows.
